Review: Trà Ôlong Tea, Made in Vietnam

Recently bought a box of Oolong tea from Nha Trang, Vietnam during the CNY holiday.

Oolong Tea by Phuc Long

Directions and ingredients list

It's been a month since and I'm left with none now. 😔

Individual packaging

What the tea bag looks like, paper-ish

Decent design 😊

 Therapy tea making session

It's good tea, I would recommend slowly pouring in the tea like I did to get the most out of it.
It's dark and heavy but still comfortable to drink.
Got this when I was in VinMart.
If you're looking for decent tea to bring back, here is one.

Dreamz Bakery & Cafe, The Strand, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

One of my best friend called me up for a sudden meet up on a working night.
So, I went.

Chose a cake to taste while we wait for our mains to arrive.
The Cempedak Pandan.

Pandan sponge cake with Cempedak cream and some crushed nuts on the outer perimeter.
Overall the cake is fine, the cream is packed with a Cempedak punch.

Sausage and Mushroom Waffle.

A waffle base topped with lettuce, one sausage (halved)  and a variety of mushrooms topped with a flowing yolk egg  and Hollandaise sauce.

The waffle is soft and malleable, easily combined together with the other components to be eaten in one bite.
The sausage is not the typical sausage that we buy in the frozen section of the supermarket. Which is good.
The mushroom was nice.
The egg was done well.
Overall a very nice combination.

pretty small though.
Sweet toast with ice-cream.

Slightly toasted bread with a frozen earl grey ice-cream topped with strawberries and toasted honey oats (or muesli? I may be wrong)

I wished that the toast was a little more crunchier and flavorful.
The ice-cream taste wise is fine but I would wish for the texture (when frozen) to be more creamier and less like a sorbet.
Overall a nice combination, but can be better.

Pricing (before gst):
Cempedak Pandan Cake              RM12.90
Sausage Mushroom Waffle          RM19.90
Toast with Earl Grey Ice-cream   RM18.90

It is located opposite the left wing of the Strand, 1st floor.

Verdict: Can Try.

Croissant Taiyaki, One Utama Shopping Centre, Petalig Jaya.

My sister has been eyeing this booth ever since it was renovating a few months ago in One Utama and finally, it's opened! Something new to try- why not?

Since it is pre-made (like the Tokyo Secret cheese tart method) not made to order, she brought them back home for tea for mee.

Similar outside packaging with stickers to indicate which is which.
The Azuki Red Bean one was still slightly warm but the Green Tea Custard is cold when we have them.

Shiny and very appetizing looking.

As you can see, the red bean filling is not as evenly placed as imagined but it still works.
The puff is soft, light and crunchy.

getting there...
The outer layer taste like a in between of the mamak's roti tissue and roti boom but with the light airy-ness of a croissant.

The peak of the filling
The red bean compliments the puff and wasn't too sweet (which is how I like them).

Green tea white chocolate-ish tasting.
The Green Tea Custard is a more full-bodied custard. Taste wise, it reminds me of a white chocolate  green tea snack that I had from the Japanese convenience store.

The filling kept oozing out at the opposite direction of where you bite, so be careful, you don't want your shirt eating the filling instead.
The outer layer was nicer when it was warm but the cold one was nice too.
The filling wise was okay lah, not my favorite but it was good enough.
Price wise not really appealing but you don't see these unique snacks to be any cheaper.

Green Tea Custurd is RM6.50
Azuki Red Bean is RM 7.50

It's located at the Old Wing, Lower Ground Floor next to the escalator near Sakae Sushi.

Verdict: Can Try.
